Course Aims
The aim of all our National Certificate Courses is to give you a productive and critical perspective on the many aspects of business administration studies to develop specialized knowledge and practical skills in the discipline of business administration and computing.
These qualifications develop a range of business, technical and interpersonal skills that enable you to make informed decisions about your career path and future higher level study. Each unit provides a consistent framework of generic knowledge together with the ability to use the information in practical workplace situations.
National Certificate in Computing Level 2
This certificate is aimed at beginners and will take you from the basics of computing up to an intermediate level. Students who only have a little computer knowledge should start at Level 2 to gain a good knowledge of computers before attempting a Level 3 certificate. This course should take 14 weeks to complete and gives you a chance to try your hand at MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Publisher. This national certificate is designed to: - recognise a base level core of computing skills for any industry that requires such skills - provide a first qualification in computing for learners studying any field or domain - recognise an entry level for further education in computing.
Location: Kaitaia, Whangarei and North Harbour.
Cost: $1999 plus gst. Unfortunatley this course attracts no Government subsidy and is not available for a Student Loan.
National Certificate in Business Administration and Computing Level 3
This is a 20 week course that focuses on intermediate level Business Administration and Computing. It builds on the skills from the Level 2 certificate or from your prior computer knowledge but also branches out into the field of Business Administration. It is a mixture of compulsary papers and electives and before starting the course you should sit down with your tutor and map out the credits you wish to undertake to achieve the qualification. The certificate covers such areas as word processing, office administration, accounts receivable, ledger systems, desktop publishing, business corespondance, spreadsheets, database and workplace presentation and meetings. This national certificate is designed to: - recognise a broad range of business administration knowledge and skills required of administrators while allowing them to select credits to match their business administration and information technology related positions and - provide recognition of an intermediate level of competence, knowledge and skills to permit and assist a pathway to further education and training.

Cost: $99 plus gst as an Administration Fee. This course has a Government subsidy that allows us to offer this price although you cannot get a student loan for this admin fee.
National Certificate in Business Administration Level 4
This is a 20 week course that focuses on the advanced level of Business Administration. This is the highest level of certicate offered by ATC. As expected this follows on from the Level 3 certificate and progresses you from intermediate to advanced level. It is also a mixture of compulsary and elective credits and you should discuss the credits you wish to undertake with your tutor before starting. Areas this certificate covers include advanced word processing functions, accounting procedures, MYOB, payroll, customer service, report writing, advanced spreadsheets, advanced database as well as many others. This national certificate is designed to: - recognise a broad range of business administration knowledge and skills required of administrators while allowing them to select credits to match their business administration and information technology related positions and - provide recognition of an advanced level of competence, knowledge and skills to permit and assist a pathway to further education or training.
